The Outrageous Cross • Easter 2025

The cross stands at the centre of our faith.

The moment in history where divine justice and mercy met in perfect love.

This Easter, we pause at The Outrageous Cross. In the ancient world, crucifixion was a brutal form of execution reserved for criminals, rebels, and the lowest in society. It was designed to humiliate, inflict immense suffering, and serve as a public warning. Yet, Jesus willingly took this path, turning the whole world upside down.

Join us as we gather to reflect on Jesus’ death, consider what His first followers felt on Good Friday, and how His suffering continues to reverberate throughout history.

Good Friday • 18 April, 10:00

Hatfield, Hatfield South, Hatfield Shere, and our Latino church are coming together to remember Christ’s suffering and sacrifice!

Children (C4G), high schoolers (Reverb) and young adults: Join us in the Main Auditorium for this significant time of remembering all that Jesus endured for us.

Friday evening: At 16:30, our Young Adults is hosting a screening of The Passion of the Christ (movie) for those over the age of 18 (no one under 18, without exception). A poignant visual reminder of what Christ endured and the price He paid. To mourn the loss before we celebrate the resurrection on Sunday.

Holy Saturday • 19 April, 09:00

This year, we invite you to join us for a special guided prayer session as we wait in silence and reflect on some of what Jesus’ first followers may have experienced on this day following His death. Meet us at the Chapel at 09:00 on Saturday morning.

Resurrection Sunday • 20 April, 10:00

We celebrate Jesus’ resurrection and the The Wonderous Cross as a community and continue to cling unwaveringly to the hope we profess!

As always, our Easter services are live-streamed.

Please note that our C4G children joins the main service while Reverb has their own service in the Minor Auditorium.

No Evening service • 20 April

Please note there is no evening service on Resurrection Sunday.
