The God of the universe, incarnate, came into this messy world for us. He was born in a stable, slept in a manger, for you and me. What a joy! And we plan on reflecting and celebrating this great joy at our Christmas Celebration this year and so much more! Have a look at the details below.
Christmas Celebration | 4 December | 18:00 | Main Auditorium
Invite your family, friends, colleagues, neighbours – bring everyone! – and join us as we celebrate our Saviour and Messiah’s birth with joyful songs of worship, adoration, and praise! We hope to see you onsite, but if you can’t make it, we are live streaming the service on YouTube.
If you’re not camera-shy, come earlier to take family selfies and photos at our life-sized, interactive nativity scene and get started on your Christmas photos. It will only be available before the celebration, between 17:00 and 17:55.
Cre-Ate Café will be open, so you’ll be able to purchase delicious eats and assorted hot and cold brews, before the service.
We’ll also have super cool colouring-in packs for the children – primary school age and younger – so be sure to get one on your way in.
Of course, it’s a worship celebration, but it wouldn’t be Christmas without the carols. However, instead of traditional candles, we’re going digital. Download a candle simulator app – any will do – or download one here and now from Google Play, Huawei App Gallery, or the App Store – and prepare for an incredible time of worship with your Hatfield family. Your cell phone flashlight could also come in handy! 😉
“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” – Luke 2:10-11 NIVUK
Stars for Smiles
Stars for Smiles is our annual drive to make Christmas memorable for disadvantaged children in the care of our Faith Promise Partner Ministries. And thanks to your generous giving to Faith Promise, the fund will cover the cost of all 602 children’s gifts this year, so we won’t be collecting gifts or contributions. Instead, we’re embarking on a Christmas challenge this year.
How can you participate? Collect a beaded star at the front of the church (near the stage) on Sundays between 13 and 27 November, and do any one of the following:
- Pray for our Partner Ministries – especially those who care for children. As a reminder to pray, hang the star in your home.
- Gift someone on your frontline a present and attach the star to it.
- Bless someone with a meal over the Christmas weekend, with the star attached.
If you cannot collect a star, don’t let that stop you from joining the challenge. We encourage you to do any or all of the above with your family regardless. Let’s freely share the love and kindness that Christ so freely gives to us.
And remember that wherever you are over the holiday season, you can keep tuning in on Sundays via our WATCH page.
Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
