The life that we live in today is fully packed and very fast-paced. In this hectic space, what we all need is a time of refreshing. Do you also experience that as soon as you want to turn your attention to God and your daily devotions, the phone rings or a text comes in, or there is some other kind of distraction? It does not matter if you are a person busy with a career or a full-time mommy, there are always many demands and deadlines. Before you know it, the day is over, you fall exhausted into bed, and there was just no time to fit God into your day.
Perhaps we need to change our approach and instead of trying to fit God into our plans, rather fit ourselves into His plans. This is plainly spelt out for us in Romans 8:28 (AMP), 'And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.'
Our scripture for this week is found in Acts 3:19 (NIV).
'Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.'
This is our route out of a spiritual desert! To repent simply means to turn around and go in the other direction. We need to return daily to our Lord and put Him first, and then we will enter into His amazing times of refreshing.
