The stars are His handiwork

When I was a girl, I went to boarding school. In my first year of High School, I joined the SCA (Student Christian Association). This song, written by Ralph Carmichael was a popular choice, and we sang these beautiful lyrics regularly. More than three decades later, the words are still as applicable to our lives today, as they were then.

He’s Everything To Me by Ralph Carmichael

In the stars His handiwork I see

On the wind He speaks with majesty

Tho' He ruleth over land and sea

What is that to me?

I will celebrate nativity

For it has a place in history

Sure He came to set His people free

What is that to me?

'Til by faith I met Him face to face

And I felt the wonder of His grace

Then I knew that He was more

Than just a God who didn't care

That lived away out there

And now He walks beside me day by day

Ever watching o'er me lest I stray

Helping me to find that narrow way

He's everything to me

May each of us honestly know what it is to understand the wonder of His grace as we look at Psalm 8:3-5 (NIV).

'When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,

what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?

You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honour.'
