Silence (two minutes)
Still your heart before Him.
‘Be still and know that I am God.’
– Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
‘A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”’
– Luke 9:35 (NIV)
It’s good to remember who we are and where we fit into the picture. He holds seven stars in his right hand, and He spoke the world into being. He is the One we are listening to. He created us in His image, and He died to reconcile us to the Father, and yet we can cooperate by being clay in His hands and allow Him to shape us as He desires.
‘Whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”’
– Isaiah 30:21 (NIV)
Lord, I choose now to quieten my heart, to put distractions aside, please speak to me. I want to walk with You like the disciples did on the way to Emmaus, where their hearts burned within them when they heard You speak, as You opened the scriptures to them.
Meditate (two minutes)
Listen to what He has to say to you.
Journal (one sentence)
Capture the one thing that has stood out for you from this devotional time.
