When our Heavenly Father created us, the greatest gift that He gave to us was 'freedom of choice'. We have free will to decide how we live and what we lay as the foundation of our lives.

In Hosea 4:6 (NKJV) we read 'My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being a priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.'

These seem like very harsh words! However, we have the perfect blueprint that outlines how we should live our lives; the Bible - the Word of God. When we make time daily to not only spend time in prayer with our Father, but also time in His Word, we learn more and more of what the right ways are and how to follow the right path.

This is clearly seen in Psalm 119:105 (NKJV) 'Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light to my path.'

Once we spend quality time studying the Bible, we experience God's incredible peace and also gain an understanding of how to deal with each obstacle or decision that we face — studying God's Word results in our obtaining the knowledge and wisdom that we need to prevent us from being destroyed by the consequences of bad decisions.

This is in fulfilment of Hosea 14: 9 (NKJV). 'Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right; The righteous walk in them, But transgressors stumble in them.'
