In Proverbs 31:10-30, we read about the ‘wise women’ or the ‘wife of noble character’. No matter where you are in your life, a single woman, a full-time mom, or a career-mom balancing career and parenting. This section of scripture is a lovely description of what a godly woman looks like. Every verse in this section offers an excellent teaching opportunity, so for today, we are only going to focus on Proverbs 31:25 (NLT).

She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.’

In the social media culture that we live in, so much attention is given to appearances and posting the perfect picture. However, none of us is genuinely that perfect. In our actual state of imperfection, this scripture gives us the best ‘wardrobe’ choice - strength and dignity.

The dictionary has the following definitions:

Strength: the quality or state of being physically strong.
Dignity: the state or quality of being worthy of honour and respect.

When we take time in our daily routines, to come before our Lord and Saviour, we are strengthened by the Holy Spirit to deal with whatever we need to attend to.

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
‘So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.’

When we are a reflection of the love and compassion of Jesus, then we automatically put on the mantle of dignity. Now we are fully clothed as God’s chosen princess warriors. There is a beautiful description of a princess in Psalm 45:11, 13

‘Let the king be enthralled by your beauty; honour him, for he is your lord. All glorious is the princess within her chamber. Her gown is interwoven with gold.’

Wearing this wardrobe instead of the worldly wardrobe will undoubtedly result in that happy laughter with no fear of the future.
