Break Up Your Fallow Ground

Silence (two minutes)

Still your heart before Him.

‘Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap according to kindness; break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, till he comes and showers His righteousness upon you.’

– Hosea 10:12 (NIV)

The law of sowing and reaping applies to us all. What we sow we will surely reap. We are called to ‘break up [our] fallow ground’ i.e. sow righteousness in areas of our lives that have been dormant up to now. We need to take new ground in our walk with Him.

Lord, help me to identify the fallow ground in my life and then help me break it up in order to make it active and available to Your Kingdom.

Meditate (two minutes)

Ask Him what your fallow ground is.

Journal (one sentence)

Capture the one thing that has stood out for you from this devotional time.
