Matthew 1:18 (NLT)
'This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.'
Do you see the power inside of you? Do you understand that power?
Even though it may feel at times that you have a mere ordinary life, something extra-ordinary is taking place on the inside. God used Mary, an ordinary woman to give birth to the greatest blessing and purpose He had for man. He planted His seed in her through the power of His Holy Spirit. She was living an ordinary life when God planted His divine seed in her. The same is happening to me and you today.
We may not be used, like Mary, to give birth to the Messiah, but each one of us is being used to give birth to a unique purpose that God has for us.
Often, when the vision of a pregnancy is given, it can have a literal or spiritual meaning. When God gives us a spiritual pregnancy, He gives us a new revelation or ministry.
In the same way that God gave Mary, who was an ordinary girl, a great purpose, so He gives to you and me an extra-ordinary purpose today.
How does He do that?
It has nothing to do with what you do or where you are from, where you live or whatever status you may have in life. It has everything to do with God and His Holy Spirit and the good work He wants to do through you.
He cultivates the ground of your life and waters the seed He places inside of you through His Holy Spirit. That deep desire to make a difference or to work with children or to start your own business, may be more than just your own voice. The desire that keeps tugging at your heart and no matter how fast or far you try to run from it, it keeps coming back to you; that may be the voice of God that calls you to something more. Maybe it's a place of more influence, or a place where you have more time for what truly matters to you, or a space to explore your creativeness.
What do you need to remember?
Right now, wherever you are, God has already planted His seed of greatness in your life. He has called you to His holy calling in Christ (Hebrews 3:1). He has placed something new and unique in you that will bring glory to His Kingdom.
Be silent for a moment and wait on His voice. It may be hidden in a picture, a song, a word, a Bible verse, or a longing and let Him remind you of the good plans He has for you.
