When we read Psalm 138:7-8, the New King James Version has the following translation:
'Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;
You will stretch out Your hand
Against the wrath of my enemies,
And Your right hand will save me.
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.'
The Message has a beautiful version of the same scripture:
'When I walk into the thick of trouble,
keep me alive in the angry turmoil.
With one hand strike my foes,
With your other hand save me.'
What a joy to know that Jesus has already won the victory for us! How privileged are we to see God’s eternal and never changing love, as expressed in the death and resurrection of His Son!
A short prayer of thanks, this week:
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for Your perfect love for each of us.
When our lives are tough and we are feeling as if there are
enemies on all sides, thank you that You will save us and
keep us safe and secure in Your arms of love.
We lift Your name on high and praise you!
