A meaningful prayer life

There is an old adage that says, “Sin will keep you from God’s Word and God’s Word will keep you from sin.” In order for us to stay encouraged and enthusiastic about God’s Word, it is vitally important that we have a daily prayer life. This needs to be more than just a list of needs for God to meet, but is a real two-way communication with Him.

In addition to prayer, fellowship is also an important part of our Christian walk. When we come together to share in God’s Word and praise and worship Him, we also draw nearer to Him in the company of others. Being part of a Spirit-filled Church adds so much more to our walk with God. When we come together in smaller groups to meditate on His Word and pray for one another, we edify each other so that we too can use the words of Paul in Romans 15:32 (NIV),

‘…so that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed.’

The more time we spend studying and discussing God’s Word and interacting with Him in a real and meaningful prayer life, the more refreshed we become. In this way we have more to offer those that we come into contact with.
