Here we are in the first week of September and this is the time that is the beginning of spring. After the browns and greys that are the overall feel of winter, it is exciting to see the bursts of colour as the springtime blossoms brighten the previously bleak and bare trees.
With the advent of spring also comes the wind that blows all the dead leaves away. This is normally followed by the first spring rainfall that will assist in growth and give one the feeling of the earth being refreshed.
In our spiritual lives this is also a great time to look at finding refreshment for the new season. Paul gives us good advice in Galatians 6:9 ‘And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.’
Our promise this week is from our Heavenly Father, found in Isaiah 55:10-11 (ESV)
‘For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.’
What joy to know that God’s Word is the same today as it was yesterday and will be forever!
